FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Calling All Beautiful Brides… and Grooms!
Special “Beautiful Brides” Issue of How We Live Magazine to feature weddings
Columbia, SC (June 27, 2008) – As this summer’s brides eagerly anticipate their upcoming nuptials and last year’s brides relish their wedded bliss, How We Live Magazine will highlight and honor their special day in its upcoming “Beautiful Brides” 2008 issue. And, readers across the United States (and even Canada) have an opportunity to feature their nuptials in this special issue alongside those of celebrity newlyweds.
“This special edition of How We Live Magazine celebrates beautiful brides and grooms within the tapestry of the African American community,” said How We Live Magazine Publisher and Editor-In-Chief Dana Tucker, who recently discussed the new bridal feature on “Friends@5” on May 6 on Columbia, S.C., CBS affiliate WLTX TV-19 with hosts Darci Strickland and Andrea Mock. Tucker did so again on June 22 on NBC affiliate WIS-TV where she sat down with popular station anchor Craig Melvin on his show Awareness.
The special bridal feature will include nuptial ceremonies that range from the traditional to the extravagant, from “jumping the broom” to a new wave of destination weddings. “There are varying ways of celebrating such a major rite of passage in African-American, Latina, and varied diverse communities,” added Tucker. “We look forward to showcasing all of the different traditions that people call their own.”
The new feature is a result of responses to a recent online survey on the magazine’s Web site – www.howwelive.biz - and businesses within the bridal industry who seek to advertise their businesses and services to a unique demographic.
“These advertisers want and need to be able to reach an African-American and multicultural demographic in the same way that they can reach a general demographic in The Knot or Brides,” said Tucker. “Because there are so few African-American focused bridal publications, we are pleased to provide such an opportunity celebrate these moments with our readers.”
The bridal-themed feature will feature brides singularly or brides and grooms in all their blissful splendor and glory from across the United States, as well as celebrity brides and grooms and professional athletes. The special issue of How We Live Magazine will feature all of this plus the other powerful and enlightening features, departments and stories that are the magazine’s trademark.
